Short story competition

Here goes my short story, perhaps a bit longer than planned...

The experiment that went wrong.

It was late at night and Jack was still working, surrounded by several strange bottles. He had been thinking about that matter for a long time and now it was time to try it.
Jack felt nervous because it had never been tried before and he feared the outcome the experiment could bring.
Now he had gained courage, took a jar and began to pour in it the liquids from some bottles he had carefully selected from the many stored on the shelves. The mixture aquired a strange colour and foams were forming on its surface. Then Jack offered it to Brian, his guinea pig, who had been eager and reluctant to drink the mixture. Once done, Brian began to feel dizzy and in a few seconds he fell to the floor and fainted.
Suddenly, a middle-aged man appeared and shout: "What have you done Jack?, are you crazy?, what in hell have you given to poor Brian?, he was already drunk!, Take him to the hospital urgently!, I hope your cocktail doesn´t kill him, or the Police will surely close my pub!!

The Argentinians: What we´re really like.

The stereotype of Argentinian people, especially among other South Americans, is that of a loud speaking person, very passionate at discussions and noisy at parties, and showing madness about football. But those are just negative views, there are other more interesting thoughts about the Argentinians abroad.
Most people from North America and Europe know nothing about Argentina, and those who have knowledge think of Argentinians like as "gauchos of the pampas" who ride horses, the "pampas" being considered a sort of selvatic region. Argentnians are also known because of tango, their roast beef and, especially, football.
I think the stereotype is not very accurate. Argentina is a big country, comprising more than five thousand kilometres from North to South, and its population varies accordingly. However, eighty percent of the Argentinian population is located in the central region of the country that comprises Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe provinces, and from it comes the stereotype.
It is true that Argentinians are mad about football, eat a lot of meat and are very passionate, but the majority of them are not "gauchos" or farmers, nor like tango. Perhaps only people from neighbouring countries know this fact, but the stereotype has spread worldwide.
I look up to North Europeans like as the Danish, Swedish and Norwegians. They have attained a high level of education and are respected all over the world. Seldon we read about scandals or crimes involving such people.
While Argentinians are praised because of their ability to adapt themselves to changing environments and tasks quickly, they are also recknown abroad like as warm, friendly people who enjoy family and social life and show a good sense of humour.
Regarding our weaknesses, I consider Argentinians drink a lot, look down on other nationalities and our behaviour becomes increasingly outspoken and aggresive.

Hi to everyone!
My name is Ivan, I´m 32 and this is my second year at the LCB.
I was born in Chaco province, Argentina, where I studied and got a degree in Electromechanical Engineering, coming to Bs. As. three years ago to work and study. At the moment I am working for an engineering company that builds fire-fighting installations for production plants, stores, etc.
Although I have taken several English courses at college, university and institutes in the past, I decided to improve my conversation skills at the LCB and to get a certificate.
I like to read books and magazines in English a lot, and also to write in that language, although a lack of free time prevent me to practise more on them.
I look forward to read more from you!
