The stereotype of Argentinian people, especially among other South Americans, is that of a loud speaking person, very passionate at discussions and noisy at parties, and showing madness about football. But those are just negative views, there are other more interesting thoughts about the Argentinians abroad.
Most people from North America and Europe know nothing about Argentina, and those who have knowledge think of Argentinians like as "gauchos of the pampas" who ride horses, the "pampas" being considered a sort of selvatic region. Argentnians are also known because of tango, their roast beef and, especially, football.
I think the stereotype is not very accurate. Argentina is a big country, comprising more than five thousand kilometres from North to South, and its population varies accordingly. However, eighty percent of the Argentinian population is located in the central region of the country that comprises Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe provinces, and from it comes the stereotype.
It is true that Argentinians are mad about football, eat a lot of meat and are very passionate, but the majority of them are not "gauchos" or farmers, nor like tango. Perhaps only people from neighbouring countries know this fact, but the stereotype has spread worldwide.
I look up to North Europeans like as the Danish, Swedish and Norwegians. They have attained a high level of education and are respected all over the world. Seldon we read about scandals or crimes involving such people.
While Argentinians are praised because of their ability to adapt themselves to changing environments and tasks quickly, they are also recknown abroad like as warm, friendly people who enjoy family and social life and show a good sense of humour.
Regarding our weaknesses, I consider Argentinians drink a lot, look down on other nationalities and our behaviour becomes increasingly outspoken and aggresive.

Well hello people!
I think this kind of blogs is becoming more popular everyday and is an excelent way to learn shareing with other people, so congratulations.
Regarding this post what could I say.... there are many argentinian stereotypes all over the world, some are somehow true, some are not... but I think we cannot blame other countries for stereotyping us in such ways because we ussually manage to leave a terrible image of Argentina wherever we go... We should try all to be nicer when we travel. Besides I think an other characteristic of argentinians is that we tend to prejudge as well, we also make stereotypes for people all aorund the world...
LOL
Keep thinking!!
What an interesting post, Ivan! It's true it's hard to feel represented by stereotypes... I lived a similar experience when I first travelled to Punta del Este to meet my future in-laws (that is, my boyfriend's family at the time). Everybody seemed to believe all Argentineans were rich, loved boasting and were direspectful of other people's cultures... I believe the solution is to work hard to show our good aspects , and help people see we're not only what the media show! This blog is an excellent contribution to that aim!
Keep blogging!
